This new mixed use project, designed by Crepain Binst Architecture (CBA) for the international media company De Persgroup Publishing, will help rejuvenate the city quarter located at the back end of the central station in the city of Antwerp. The building will provide ample public space for passers-by to explore the 24/7 multi-media display panels on the ground floor and enjoy the F&B outlets on the mezzanine level. Balcony corridors will surround the building and both the general public and employees of the Persgroup will have access to various lush green gardens. The rooftop garden will offer a stunning 360° panoramic view of the city.Read More
A consortium of Belgian, French and Vietnamese design companies, including 3 B-DNA members (OMG Designers- master planning, Ney & Partners - design of floating market bridge, and boydens engineering - sustainable engineering), shared the second prize in the international landscape, planning and architectural design competition for Han Riverfront, Da Nang City (VN). There were no first prize winners.
Their proposal "Green Corridor, Green Connections, Green Programme" focuses on an integrated green master plan for the river delta providing qualitative, realistic and smart answers to climate change challenges (rainwater and waste management, introduction of 3000 new trees, ...), interlaced systems of sustainable modes of transport (including water taxis), and landscape architecture design typologies. It also incorporates exciting new public spaces including walking and plank paths, a floating market, public parks and sports grounds.
Understanding the effects of the built environment on human health and well-being is one of the key factors for B-DNA’s designers to consider. On a daily basis, they ponder over questions such as: How can we provide clean air inside a school building under heavily polluted environment circumstances? How can we improve people’s and animals' comfort level in and around buildings, parks and roads? How can we improve a patient's healing process when designing a hospital? How can we make neighborhoods more inclusive for all generations?Read More
